Your Head was Dischord's first compilation. Rereleased
in CD form here, the comp contains 2-4 tracks from most
of the first harDCore bands. Artists include Teen Idles
(Ian and Jeff's first band), Untouchables (Ian's brother
Alec's first band), State of Alert (Henry Rollins' first
band), Minor Threat, Government Issue, Youth Brigade,
Red C, Void, Iron Cross, Artificial Peace, and Deadline
(with Brendan from Fugazi). As one would expect, the
recording is pretty crappy and most of the songs are
extremely short and violent. But just the fact that
there is something at all shows that the kids were on
a mission, and that something was happening. This is
an essential comp for anyone interested in the DC scene
or looking for a little hardcore history.
